Unlimited iPhone Downloads Of Music, Movies, Videos, TV Shows And Games

I am trying to use the app store on my iPod touch and when I try to install an app, an error message comes up: Application Not Compatible. This application requires the iPhone 3.0 Software Update. Then on my iTunes, the only update available is the newest one which apparently costs .95. Is there a way to get the 3.0 Software Update?? and where can i get it?

I have an ipod and want to get the iphone. Is the iphone sufficient for music? just like the ipod? or is it better to keep both?

I have a jailbroken iPhone and was wondering if it is possible to download mp3s directly to the iPod.app (with safari or dtunes equivelant), as if I synced it with iTunes. I am trying to avoid using iTunes on my pc as much as possble. I am running 3.1.2 and have cydia installed.

On the iphone/ipod i always go on the internet and there are only a couple of places like you can watch videos like youtube, is there anything i can download or something so i can watch anything and it would like a laptop internet ?????????
