I am trying to use the app store on my iPod touch and when I try to install an app, an error message comes up: Application Not Compatible. This application requires the iPhone 3.0 Software Update. Then on my iTunes, the only update available is the newest one which apparently costs .95. Is there a way to get the 3.0 Software Update?? and where can i get it?

Apple’s iPhone first hit stores worldwide back in 2007 and was well received by its audience. It is commonly considered the device that really set the standard in Smartphone technology and continues to sell rapidly! But what made it such a massive success?
Of course, the most notable thing about the iPhone was touch screen technology. While this had been around for some time, it certainly had not yet been made available on such a large scale, commercially in a device that was actually affordable for many consumers. It meant there was no need for a keyword, which saved a lot of space on the device, enabling Apple to provide a bigger screen. A significantly bigger screen than that of many other mobile on the market at the time made mobile browsing a very convenient experience.
The device basically incorporated absolutely everyone that someone might want on a device they could carry in their pocket. It came with a fully functioning iPod MP3 player, the ability to stream Youtube video, in built camera, email, text messaging and telephone call capabilities, maps and, when the app store launched later, a seemingly limitless range of downloadable games and utilities. Today, there are more than 180,000 different applications on the app store, which have contributed to the more than 3 billion downloads from the app store since its launch.
And of course, who could forget the importance of how a phone looks! We’re a vain bunch, us gadget freaks! We love a device that looks at great as it functions. And Apple achieved that with the iPhone, maintaining the look across the first release, 3G release and the more recent 3GS.
Apple seems only happy to continue meeting our growing desire to be able to email, text, call and access our social networks from the palm of our hand. The iPad, the latest Apple gizmo to go global, will be out in the UK in just a matter of weeks and sales of the iPhone continue to soar. It looks as though the Apple success story is going to continue!

I plan on getting an iphone 2g and read that when watching a youtube video it takes 8 seconds of buffer time for every second of actual video. Is this true? Also, is it faster to watch the videos with wifi? If so, how much faster? If anyone has a 2g iphone please help me. Thanks
