If all your songs were purchased from iTunes store, use "Transfer Purchases" option to transfer. See http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1329
If stilll not work, or if some of your music was from other sources, like CD, you can use this handy iPhone to mac transfer program to help you http://www.gutensoft.com/Utilities/3herosoft-copy-songs-from-iphone-to-mac.html
It offers an easy and fast way to copy music, playlists, videos, photos, podcasts and TV Shows etc from iPhone onto Mac and from iPhone to iTunes. Many of my friends are using it.
