do you have ONLY a CD player? or do you also have a tape deck (for cassettes) or a radio? (am/fm)?
with ONLY a CD player, i don’t think it’s possible.
however, if you have a tape deck, you can get a cassette adapter (looks like a cassette with a headphone cord coming out of it) (costs $10-30)
If you have a radio, you can buy an FM transmitter, where you program the transmitter to basically override a radio frequency, and your iPhone/iPod hooks up to the transmitter and plays through that radio frequency. (these cost between $30-$100)

Unfortunately, there isn’t an adapter out there that uses the CD player to output music from an mp3 player. The cheapest option for you would be to purchase an FM tuner that you plug into your iPhone. However, if you have the extra dough I would recommend buying a new stereo that has an AUX port. The sound you get will be much better.
